Inventor slows down significantly when my Undo File grows above a certain size. I believe the problem would be solved by adding a "Delete Undo File" operation.

If I were reading this post I would want more info so here goes:
I work with complex assemblies, some containing more than 1000 IPTs. With no undo file stored, a "big" operation like a break-out drawing view takes 2 minutes to complete, and creates an Undo File that is bigger than 1GB. This is common. I performed the test below.
Save, close Inventor, open Inventor. (clears undo file)
Change breakout depth from 0.5 in to 0.501 in.
Time: 2 min
Change breakout depth from 0.501 in to 0.5 in.
Time: 20 min
Save, close Inventor, open Inventor. (clears undo file)

Issue is not resolved by increasing size of Undo File. It is also not due to system limitations (30% processor load, 10 GB unused RAM out of 20GB total). I would guess it has several software-related causes, but I think adding a "Delete Undo File" function would be a low cost band-aid for this issue.
