Did you mean:

to obtain mass and m2

to obtain mass and m2

We often need to determine the weight of only a few components in an assembly.

Suggested procedure:

  1. We hide the parts that we do not want to be included in the assembly weight
  2. We select the parts whose weight we want to obtain.
  3. We give the measurement command. It should give us the weight of selected parts only.

Surfaces should work similarly.

  1. Mark the surfaces we want to find m2.
  2. Give the command to measure. It should give us the weight of only selected surfaces.

Of course, it is possible to give the command first, then mark it.

Hi, thanks for your idea.  I'm not sure what version you are running, but in 2025 (maybe 2024?) there is already the possibility to do this.

When you select a part with measure it will tell you the mass of that part. If you select more than one with the plus, you can add them up.

By the way, hiding parts is a graphics filter and won't remove parts from the iProperty mass, you need to suppress them for that.

I will have Inventor 2025 later.
As far as I had the option, it was not possible to add several components through the +. And even if it were possible, the problem is that you have to select dozens of components.

But yes, it would be a lot of clicks.

Thanks for the picture. It's ok for a few components.
