Inventor is a highly menu driven program. We spend a lot of time drilling down into menus and ribbons to select a tool we need.
Having the ability with a customized hot key that opens an onscreen customizable toolbar in the location of the curser would be a game changer and time saver. Let alone less stress on our eyes and hands.
The toolbar should have no menus, just icons to keep it compact and quick. It would also be nice if the toolbar was resizable to fit the user needs. In other words, not just a vertical structure like menus but the ability to make it longer, taller, square, whichever. And the freedom to move icons around the toolbar on screen on the fly to customize. A user might want to see 2, 3, 4 or 5 icons across and so many down. It would be cleaner and helpful to organize families of icons in this way with that ability.
Every discipline has their own needs of tools for their work. I don't see any of these customizable menus becoming monsters, remaining in size of 10 to 20 tools. They will remain quite small with large benefits compared to the drilling down work today.
Thanks for your time.
