Surface Patch tool

the patch tool has this limitation:

you can't select a portion of an edge

as you can see in the image the fourth edge of the loop is not recognized by the tool because is a portion of the long one.

it would be great if the tool could recognize the intersection.

ALL inventor surfacing tools struggle with this. It would be wonder full if Sweep paths, Loft profile/rails and even extrusion could be limited in this way!
