The various design tools seem to be biased towards large constructs. For example, to create a gear (and I'm not designing a gear, just creating a model of the one in my hand) I can't create one for a shaft smaller than 1/2" in diameter. The gear in my hand is about 6mm in diameter and takes a 2mm shaft. Most of my work is done with small stepper motors, such as NEMA-8 and NEMA-17, 4mm and 5mm shafts; other motors have 2mm shafts, and the largest diameter I care about is 8mm. I need to model couplings, flexible shafts, etc. I need a toothed gear and belt, and I need a GT2, 6mm wide, and its various matching gears, such as 36-tooth with a 5mm shaft, 12-tooth with a 4mm shaft, etc. I want to use the ability to fit positions to belt sizes, and I have a 400mm GT2 belt. Nothing scales down to this size. I am trying to build a CNC device for a tabletop and you don't support this scale. Please extend the smart-object support to cover real parts, not just multihorsepower industrial-grade parts.
