The recent file list is sometimes empty and sometimes contains parts/assemblies that are pinned in other projects. I understand that the recent file list is kept in the registry (which corporate users may not have access to). Can we have an xml or similar file stored in or with the project file that maintains the pinned and recent files for that project.
Missing pinned items:
Each time that I upgrade Inventor, to the next year variant, my recent files are cleared. It takes time to pick through the hundreds of parts and assemblies to re-pin the key files. Many files look alike. There is danger of selecting an old file or variant and making changes to it when I had already pinned the file that was current.
By having a pinned list specific to each project my pinned and recent files would not disappear when I upgrade Inventor.
Pinned items from other projects:
I use separate projects for my product, its enclosure and packaging since I want to keep like with like (plastics, metalwork, packaging). I have a super-project (one whose library calls the workspace of the others) that allows me to assemble all three items. When I open the super-project, I only want to see assemblies that I have pinned there but I also see every item pinned to each of the sub-projects.
By having a pinned list specific to each project my super-project would only pin the assemblies relevant to the super-project (as well as showing all recent files from it and sub-projects).
