Stop Work Planes and Sketches From Turning on Visibility in Assembly Components When Turning Components Visible

This is a major nuisance and time waster. Every time I turn components invisible in an assembly, and then turn them visible again, all work planes and sketches in said components automatically turn visible again also. Why?! I had those work planes and sketches already hidden prior, so Inventor is doing whatever it wants in this regard. FIX IT ASAP!

This has been a MAJOR headache for me for years.

Why did I not think of posting this one! It's so annoying!

agreed. Even just a simple "hide all work planes/axis" button in the asembly enviroment would help a lot.  One that should only hide part level work features, but not asembly level work planes.

i notice that most user use the View Tab "object visibility" button to turn off all visible planes/axis/sketch.

This does not cover all of the user needs. This will do a temporary turn off,  and will only be on the current view representation and part/assembly. The "object visibility" status will not carry over to any view representation or assembly view.

The only way I have been able to keep the working planes/axis/sketches off is to: Under Object Visibility keep all the boxes check, you want to see everything all the time. Then when creating a view representation, under here you will have to select each plane/axis/sketch and turn visibility off. the View representation will carry forwarded to next assembly.

Let the view representation control what you want to see not the Object Visibility.

An addition to above. A standard view rep where all work features are invisible would be amazing. Or a button that set visibility of all work features to off and then I can turn one on and it will still be visible. Although this could also be achieved with ilogic.

How about changing the code so that models are placed in the assembly with the Default not Primary view rep?  Primary view reps can't be edited, so it is hard to set the preferred colors and visibility when a model is added to another assembly.

Also, changing the visibility of a sub-component should not break Design View Rep associativity.

When I'm 'building' a stage, I literally spend all day placing parts and assemblies, then constraining them into place. I use planes and axes to constrain the parts. I need to see the planes and axes I want to constrain to. Turning off all of the planes and axes does not help me.

I need Inventor to stop randomly turning on planes and axes (although axes do not bother me as much).

Generally I try and use the Origin Work planes when I can to be used to constrain parts and assemblies.

Sure when there are lots of Origin and Work planes visible, it can be painful to find the ones that we need.

I always thought it was my way of editing/setting up the models, which resulted in the planes reappearing when they were opened again.

I use Master Sketches a lot, occasionally I put in sketches for locating bolted connections. Sometimes these sketches can be hidden by these work planes, Turn off the work planes in the view command and the sketch can reappear,

Definitely a nice to have ability to turn off or keep in the same state when you last saved it.
