Sheet metal marks visible in STEP files

Previously we used the Emboss function for marking sheet-metal parts. Now, the Mark feature works really well, especially for single lines or other geometry that have to be engraved. But when exporting a STEP file of a sheet-metal Inventor part with Marks and opening this STEP-file in a viewer or other CAD program, we found out the hard way that the markings have gone. (See image below, on the left the part in Inventor, on the right is the same part as a STEP-file imported in the Autodesk Online Viewer).

That's really a pity, because without the markings in the STEP-files, there will be no markings on the actual laser-cut and bent parts. The Mark-function doesn't have added value in this way for our company. Our suppliers want STEP-files to produce our parts, but they don't 'see' the markings in the STEP-file.

It would be great if there was a way to also make the Marks visible in a STEP-file.

Where are the markings?Where are the markings?

@miechh the mark info & geometry can be exported to STEP, which is available in 2025.1. You could have a try. Thanks!
