We work ALOT with Inventor sheet metal parts and there is a huge annoying setting for the "bend positions" when applying a flange.
As I circled in the settings are the way it should be set as default.
By default the settings are totally wrong and I ned to change this every time I start a part.
Cant see this default can be changed. (if you not changed it recently)
My statement may sound cocky, but I have 20 years of experience in sheet metal processing and as my first pictures shows is how it should work with bending "on the floor"...
Most sheet metal machines measures from the "inside" and out to an edge.
Also operators also "thinks" in inside dimensions since that is the way the machine "die" works....So we have got comments from operators when dimensions are "outside"
When working with 0,75mm sheet metal it i huge risk for the operator to failing calculate the inside dimension
So changing this setting in Inventor every time is really annoying and there also are a manufacturing risk if this setting can't be set as needed.
In drawings we for instance we automatically inserts the part dimensions but if the flanges are placed with the default Inventor settings the placement get wrong on the drawing.
Working with drawings with 0,75 plate it is hard for operators to se if it is inside or outside dimensions.
So my wish is that this setting could be set as a default value as needed! 😎
