I just had the task to simplify a large assembly for a customer. They require Revit files <500kB.
Inventor 2022 was much better in simplifying than Inventor 2022, but still it would not come close to 500kB.
The fastest and most effective option is obviously "envelopes". But for that you go "all in". Meaning every part is enveloped.I lost important information about conduits etc.
Most of our products (and in general most products, I guess) do have a cover or something that is a cubicle.
Most times, they are not "waterproof", meaning you have holes for fans and the likes, so internal parts are still visible.
It would be great to have an option to selectively choose parts/components to envelope.
Even the example used in the helpfile would work that way. Pick the cover as envelope, exclude internal components and keep the coolers on top for normal simplification.
Another great thing would be cylindrical envelopes, some parts look odd when replaced by a bounding box, but that is nice to have.
