Resizing Work Planes to any size in iam (same as in ipt)

See this discussion for background

I would like to be able to resize work planes in .iam files, in exactly the same way as you can in .ipt files.

In other words, I would like to be able to resize and or move the work plane to exactly the position

and size I want it, by dragging. This would greatly improve productivity & speed in large complex assemblies.

At the moment you can only resize work planes in .iam by dragging symmetrically about some fixed point.

Usually the work plane ends up too big, to see the edges when you zoom in, or too small to see at all

when you zoom slightly out. Also the drawing becomes extremely cluttered with work planes that you can't

resize to suit your needs.

I'm not sure that this issue is being taken seriously enough.

It is a real hassle for users working in large assemblies to not be able to size, shape, AND LOCATION of work planes in large assemblies.

We have about 20 dedicated seats and 9 network seats, as well as Vault Pro. We spend about $75k per year to use this software, it would be nice if this issue were addressed.

Do we need to start a campaign of votes to get this issue to rise to the top?

Yes, work planes can be resized in an assembly by dragging the corner of the plane.  However, I don't think that is the issue here.  This is not the same as moving the plane.

What we want is to move or drag the entire resized plane to another location (just as we already can move them in .ipt parts).  This  allows the plane to be located (isolated) in relation to a specific feature.

It would not be a big issue if view representation choice would be preserved if part/assembly is put in other assembly. I would be able to create a view rep with hidden ugly big planes, but now whenever I toggle the visibility ugly planes are back. So yes, it is a hell of a problem.
