I would like to generate pictures, in my case 24 pcs in total from every 15 degree around an object, and from above by 15 degree (not horisontally). Like as if the camera is fixed taking pictures of an object mounted on a rotatable pedestal.
So I thought of an interesting work around for your task that is a bit time consuming, but will give you the results you want (I think).
If you put your part or assembly in a drawing, you can right click and go to the "Custom View Orientation" (Step One is shown in Inventor 2016) and this activates the Custom View tab back in the part file.
From here you can use the "Rotate At Angle" button to achieve the starting point you want and increment. Then, use whatever screen capture tool you want and take your pictures (Step Two & Three). There are actually some very good, free screen capture apps in the App Exchange that interface with Inventor very well.
Drawbacks - as far as I know, you can only Rotate At Angle along the origin axis of the part.
But if there was a program or system you could operate to render these images for you and output them, that would not be a bad improvement too. Or if there is someway to do this on another software other than Inventor.
Thank you for your answer. I was familiar with the method you mentiones and i used this to try to solve the problem but still i was not able too look from above with this method.
I include two pictures the first is the reult from my Inventor and the second one is produced in Solid Works. Its the result as in the second one I'm looking for.
I would like to have this function in Studio.
The use for these Picture files are then to have as rotational 3D pictures on websites.
Why not work around the other way ? Keep the viewpoint but let the object rotate. So create a new assembly in which you put the assembly you want to view. Delete the automatic ground, mate the bottom of your machine to the floor of the new assembly, mate the Z-axis and put an angular constraint to one of the vertical planes. You can then choose "drive" for the angular constraint. Drive command even lets you make a movie...
Render an animation to frames (not a video container) of the object rotating, with a calculated rotation speed/FPS combination, then pick every __th frame from the sequence. If it doesn't look quite "right" you still have a continuous range of images to choose from.
