Relative Constraints / Coordinate Positioning

Relative Constraints / Coordinate Positioning

A facility to lock parts in place relative to each other WITHOUT grounding any of them.  Then, grounding one, effectively grounds them all.  This could be achived simply by positioning parts in an assembly and selecting a suitable button.

Useful when copying parts between assemblies.

Positioning would either be as copied from the previous assembly, or a coordinate method of positioning cound be used:  Set an origin, then set a datum point on the part and finally provide coords to set the position relative to the origin.  The origin could be set as any abstract point, or perhaps a datum point set in a convenient point on another part, allowing parts to be positioned relatively.

What problem are you trying to solve?

Why not just add constraints between components?  If you copy a set of components with constraints from one assembly to another, the common constraints come with.
