Redefine part's coordinate system

Redefine part's coordinate system

When I receive a 3D neutral file such as a Step file, the coordinate system may not be set in the desired direction.
I can use Viewcube to redefine the front view, but it only changes the view of the part and the actual coordinate system stays the same.
So it is very inconvenient when placing parts with problems in the coordinate system into the assembly environment.

Can you make a way to redefine the coordinate system in Inventor?

(For example, insert  UCS and reassign the coordinate system with it)

This is not exactly what you are asking for, but there is a way to do this now, if you reverse the way you are thinking about it.

The coordinate system is a fixed reference.  Instead of thinking of moving it, use the "Direct Edit" or "Move Body" tools to move or rotate the solid bodies to the correct position and orientation relative to that fixed coordinate system.

yup that's also what I do, and then I export it to step and import again to have a clean file with the lower file size

I use the direct edit or move body tools for this purpose. But it is a cumbersome way to do it. To be able to select features to determine the ucs or move it to the ucs.

Often an assembly come in with one part grounded and the rest floating. I immediately ground all the others. But then how do I move the whole assembly to the preferred ucs.

I get many parts in that were not design to the ucs (ucs is random) or that they were to an edge instead of the center that works so well if they are generally symmetrical in design or the assembly they are going on.
