Record Macro

Record Macro

Inclusion of a record Macro, for I-logic. Similar to Catia V5 where by you could record you actions and the system would translate this into code format, in order to be able to repeat the actions taken.

Adding this into inventor would help customers/users to better determine how to write more complex coding elements and perform more operations using I-Logic API/VB code.

Take a look at auto steps.
This makes it super easy to create your own workflows and thus do recurring work.

Useful tool, shame it's an additional purchase, most software packages have this inbuild these days, Excel had Record Macro for a while, and Dassault systems have had it since pretty much the Release of Catia V5
If Inventor had an inbuild Record Macro, as Excel and Dassault Systems, programming more complex sinarios and features would be easier.
Thinking that seem fairly simple but due to the nature of I-logic require direct VB programs in order to achieve, see my post related to the need to turn dimensions from Driving to Driven with I-logic.
In this instance the use of the Record, would allow you to manually perform the action and gain the necessary code to perform and recreate
However I suppose then there would be a lower need to purchase the API training

Hi,

I have seen that there are several different ideas that deal with almost the same issue.

For a successful implementation on the part of Autodesk it would probably be good if all efforts were bundled in one post... Maybe you also support this effort, which can be found at the following link:

Best wishes & thanks in advance for supporting
