Prompter for programming iLogic

Prompter for programming iLogic

It was nice to have a prompter similar to Excel. You start it, do the usual operations, and it shows how it will be in machine language.

It's a nice thought.  I think this idea has been held back due to the high complexity of what all you can do within Inventor.  We are lucky to have some pre-defined iLogic snippets & a programing Samples section within the online help.  There are a few tools out there that attempt to 'record' some specific actions, then present us with something we might be able to use within the programming environment, but nothing major enough to be called a true Macro Recorder, like what we all want.

This is an old idea, but a good one.

Here are a few other similar ideas:

Record Macro- iLogic Code Creation

mouse click recorder - macro recorder

Inventor Add-On Suggestion: Macro Recorder

Record Macro

Perhaps someone from Autodesk could combine some of these to help advance the general idea with more votes.

It has obviously been a requested feature for a very long time.

We will likely switch software across our organization due to the lack of support here.  macro recording, followed by code generalization, is a better workflow for engineers with limited code writing abilities.  Dassault Systèmes supports well in this area.

Each program has both its own pros and cons. The program you mentioned has minus enough as well 😉
