For example, if you wanted to plan a difficult lifting operation then scanning the applicable area might be a lot faster and more accurate than modelling it. When you have a scan then presenting the movements in a .ipn (presentation) could be a nice tool.
Frankly, I don't really se why you cant show point clouds in presentations.
It would be nice when you show your point cloud on a drawing too, instead of making a new screen capture/reattach the screen capture to the drawing every single time the model around the point cloud gets updated.
