You mean that the component to be constrained to the origin should also be selected in the current assembly, right?

This would allow you to quickly constrain two parts together using their reference planes and the origin point.

I need to be able to add a component that I previously placed in the graphics window to a component that I select.

No need to rummage through the parts list and select a component there.

Although this option - to choose from a list - should be retained.
