Pattern part in an assembly by referencing another assembly pattern

Currently, when patterninga part within an assembly, we can only select a feature pattern(from an ipt file). It would be advantageous if we could select an already patterned component from the active assembly or another sub assembly.

I don't understand the problem that you are trying to solve.

If I want to add a component to an existing assembly pattern, I edit that pattern and add the component.

What are you trying to do?
