Parameter list specific to sketch

Parameter list specific to sketch

The parameters list already says what sketch/feature each parameter is consumed by, I would like to be able to filter by sketch or feature.

When using the tolerances to check on castings/machining to ensure enough stock for machining, it would be simpler and faster to sort some of these out by sketch rather than a whole list. Especially when there are a large number of Parameters that are not uniquely identified.

@stephenbremerkamp7618 The way to do this currently would be to create your custom property first and then assign that to your sketch dimension as opposed to naming the dimension as your desired name.

the way to do this is when you start a new part you can click either of the parameters buttons

click the Add Numeric button at the bottom of the dialog

give your parameter a name like "machine offset" or something, the when you need to call it up in the sketch just type the name into the dimension field.

alternately if you have a lot of custom properties and can't remember exact names (like i do all the time) you can click the arrow on the side of the dimension dialog and select "List Parameters" and select it from the list.

this is a much easier way to control custom parameters and is easily doable in any version of inventor. it also makes finding which dimensions are using those parameters a LOT easier in large parts. Hope that helps.

My concern isn't accessing the parameters to be used elsewhere, the "List Parameters" is good as is.

The issue is when I have many dimensions, in some cases driven dimensions, and I would like to add tolerances to them(Whether it be casting or machining tolerances).

It is very cumbersome to select each dimension, right click, dimension properties, so on and so forth to set this up.

I am going in and setting up tolerances on critical dimensions, so I can use the parameter reset tolerance function to show extreme variations of the casting and machining features.

I have to do this for every critical dimension.

If I can do this through the parameters list, specific to the sketch or features I am working on, it would save me some time.
