Option to Save Part with Modeled Threads

Option to Save Part with Modeled Threads

An option for Inventor/Inventor LT/Inventor professional in the save menu to save a file with threaded features modeled. This would greatly facilitate the use of these products with 3D printers.

Currently, an add-in is available to model thread features, however, it is not compatible with Inventor LT, and cannot model thread features created using the Create Hole function.

One reason Inventor does not model threads automatically is to preserve file size and program speed, especially for large assemblies. The solution for these issues seems obvious: after selecting the option to model threads and hitting the 'Save' button, a pop up window should appear warning of the file size and program speed (should the file be opened) and asking to confirm the save file option selections. It is then the user's responsibility to provide enough space for such files and save an additional copy without the threads modeled for future use in assemblies, etc.

Thanks, I've seen that post before, but the request there seems to be to model threads in general. I feel like there's a lot of resistance from Autodesk to add the feature. To include modeled threads in the save file only may be a step forward, since it bypasses the worries about assemblies.

I also get annoyed by their 'solution' of using the add-in, which is addressed directly in the op.
