Need Ability To Measure Normal Distance Along Angled Trajectories in Parts and Assemblies
The Inventor "Measure" tool is severely limited in its scope and abilities. Need to add the capability to the Inventor "Measure" tool to measure distances along angled trajectories in part and assembly model files. See attached image for better illustration.
Are you looking for the distance between the end of that fastener and the centerpoint of the end of the hole? Because inventor will give you that measurement, you just have to select the things to measure between. There's already so much information there for the two faces you've selected, it seems crazy to add MORE instead of just selecting the two things you actually want to measure.
There used to be an Angled Measure' tool that was removed sometime before 2017. It is now almost impossible to do unless you hold your tongue just right. We need that tool back I want to be able to tell Autodesk Inventor that I want to measure and angle and not just pick geometry and hope for the best.
