Multiple tapering angle for extrusion.

Hello Sir,

In inventor, while extrusion, we have only one option for tapering angle, in which each face of extruded object is tapered with one and only single tapering angle.

Not any option is there for tapering of each face with different angle. 

I have also attached one screenshot of the problem. in which angles are different 16.7 degree in top view and 21.8 degree in side view.

Please add this feature, this will be very useful in creating frustums with different tapering angle of each face. which is not possible in present version.

Hi @Anonymous. The tapering for extrusions is intentionally meant to be basic and simple so that it requires minimal inputs. However, you could easily accomplish these multiple tapers using the Draft tool, using the "Fixed Plane" method. Please see the Screencast below. Does this work for you?

I agree, changing the tapering on the extrusion command will generate more confusion than help, especially on more complex profiles to be extruded.

Haha not stupid at all, a reasonable request. Just unnecessary, since there's already a really streamlined tool for what you needed. It just happens to be one of the more obscure tools that most people don't know about or never think to use, myself included. But this is a perfect use case for it. Glad it works for you!
