material to an assembly

Even though it makes no sens to many people, we need to be able to assign a material to an assembly. We use a lot of piano hinges that are built as an "Inseparable" assembly so it can be flexible. We've been using an iLogic rule to push some text in the "iPropeties/Project/Material" even if this line is not visible and it was working just fine. here is the rule we use:
iProperties.Value("Project", "Material") = desired material or any text
We just switched from Inventor 2022 to 2024 and it doesn't work anymore.
This is important for us as our ERP uses this information to automatically generate what's needed to fabricate the parts and substract the used material from the inventory.
We need this to work again so we don't have to modify thousands of parts and/or pay to have our ERP modified.

If you convert your assembly into a weldment, material assignment becomes possible and shows up in your parts list.

I was going to say you can assign material if you convert it to a welded assembly but weldments really don't play well with flexible assemblies and positions

set it as a custom iproperty and assign that to your list.
