Make DXFs export with less filesize

So I did some testing to figure out whether I can make the DXFs coming off an Inventor face any smaller and I can't seem to figure why they are such huge files.

The original DXF is 317kb (created by 'export as DXF' from a face), Creating the DXF and pointing to a blank template file actually makes the output DXF larger (436kb), and purging the DXF in ACAD after creation gets the file size down to 302kb.

Meanwhile; I can upload the part file to Fusion360, export the face as DXF, and the file size is 7kb!!

WHY CAN'T INVENTOR MAKE IT THIS SMALL?? it's just a 2d sketch.

Have you actually opened the 7 KB file to make sure it is a valid file?  7 KB sounds suspiciously small to me.

I just did a test for comparison purposes.  In AutoCAD (not Inventor), I created a drawing from a blank template (no title blocks, etc.), drew a single horizontal line, and purged the drawing.  Then I saved it as 2018 DXF.  The file size was still 135 KB.

Good comment/question...

I opened up the 7kb file and it is indeed valid (and much more than a single line), but when I hit save as DXF 2000Lt in ACAD, it then bumped up to 175kb; so it looks like ACAD is pig in the room more than Inventor.

I've done previous work where I used DraftSight's program and it created file sizes around the 75kb range for DXFs.
