Change the Linear Dim Display Precision in a part does not immediately change the BOM Unit Quantity.
Saving file does not update BOM Unit Quantity.
Rebuilding part must be done.
So, when users change the Linear Dim Display Precision, they must remember to rebuild on change & save.
We have many users that use the Model BOM directly. The parts base unit can be each, linear, and volume and units are all used in one BOM.
- Issue is that this needs to be done on many files, hundreds.
- What happens is the BOM shows wrong precision which can be time consuming to correct.
- Users may change it but forget to rebuild, close & reopen.
- It has been happening for many years of Inventor releases.
- Forum has people talking about this for many years.
- iLogic does not have the ability, in my investigations, to do this.
Please add to your bugs list and have it as a priority for the last number of releases.
- Update iLogic to adjust Linear Dim Display Precision
- Update Inventor such that BOM Unit Quantity will update after the display precision is changed.
