Starting position:
- Inventor allows to define dimensional tolerances on 3D model (i.e., 3D annotation)
- Tolerances can be retrieved on 2D drawing ensuring drawing and 3D model is synchronized
- 3D dimensional tolerances can be used for middle tolerance STEP exports and tolerance chain calculation
- 3D dimensional tolerances should be the master to define tolerances only once
Issue:
- Not all ISO 14405, dimensional tolerances, are available on the 3D model
- If a missing modifier is needed, they must be added on the 2D drawing (where it is available) but the link to the 3D annotation is lost
Solution:
- Minimum: Add the missing ISO 14405 symbols to the 3D annotation list as they are available for 2D drawings
- Optimal: Allow to select available symbols in the Styles Editor as possible for 2D drawings
All symbols from ISO 14405 and ISO 1101 are available for 2D and 3D
