Inventor Nesting

Inside inventor nesting, I have been struggling with the problem of source labels. Source labels are the numbers on your part when you nest. It tells you what number goes with its corresponding part. The problem I am struggling is that the number on the product are not shown all the way. half of the number is on and half is off. This is a struggle when you have hundreds of parts in a nest. I would love to have the options to the middle of the object in the nest, and be able to choose the size of the number in the part so it will work with rather small objects, you will be able to see it more clearly and it will have more use.

The pink number is the problem i'm having.

@jarod.long , thanks for submitting this request. Unfortunately, there is no user-facing control available to toggle this option based on preference. There are different ways to position the part numbering - at first segment, at center of gravity, etc. It seems that the current setting is placing it at the first segment.

While center of gravity would be a better option in example you provided, it would be a less than ideal choice for a thin ring (or a thin arc) in which case the number would get placed much further from the shaded region of part. In order to suit a wider range of part shapes, we've chosen the "first segment" setting.

In our standalone nesting solution - Autodesk TruNest - users do have ability to control this setting for part number placement on nests.
