Inventor Drawing Automation

Inventor Drawing Automation

Inventor Drawing automation should use more AI technology. To Produce working drawings on the fly when making new parts and assemblys. Default drawing should show flat pattern in sheet metal and auto dimensions  sheet extents.

When you are finished the part the AI system will have the drawing created which you can edit later if needs be. I think a feature like this would give Autodesk the cutting edge of technology in the market of 3D cad design software.

Look forward to seeing this in future versions of Inventor

Hi!

The times are ready. It would be great to obtain automatic (totally) drawings based on drafter verbal input.

The same then could be applied to other Inventor task.

Thanks!

By the end of this year (2023), Fusion will launch a new AI technology to have automatic fully dimensioned views from 3d models, with just one click.

Can we have in Inventor a AI approch too?

Admaiora can I see something online?

Invnetor 2024 for any AI implement by using ilogic or API?

Autodesk Fusion allows now the automated creation of 2D drawings from a 3D model.

It would be a big time saving if a similar feature would exist inside Inventor.

See Fusion 360 blogs, for example

Great idea!

If it's not possible in the short term to do this directly in Inventor (due to AI / Cloud / etc.), it would be useful that an Inventor user can somehow seamlessly use this functionality in Fusion, including the possibility to have it Automated (part of API).

Any updates on this?

Unfortunate yes .. we got from Autodesk support the info that they have right now no plan to integrate this to Inventor (that would be upcoming Inventor 2027). Not an official statement, it may change in future.

There is also no API on Fusion 360 which could be used from an external (desktop) application to automate generating 2D drawings out of 3D uploaded to Fusion 360.

Maybe take a good look at SolidWorks, They are already doing this.

Autodesk come on. When will this be available?

there's a partial solution ... you can use AI to write a code (visual basic) ad use this code to make your design.

ok it's a first step ... but for simple items it works

@mirko.saiani can you give some sample or overview to start.

Thanks

the prompt I used:

create a visual basic code to use in inventor 2025 where it asks me for the values to create a parallelepiped
