Some years ago AutoCAD got a facelift that included a macro-recorder. You could tell it to 'start record' and type in a series of picks, clicks and commands, then tell it to 'stop record'...then name it. Thereafter, all you had to do was invoke the macro thus saved (by name) and a single-pick followed by a 'return' keystroke and you were through that series of actions. This was great for repetitive tasks.
Please add this to Inventor, especially in the .iam environment. Right away, the business of adding 'color' to parts that don't get painted until they are in a weldment will become less tedious and time-consuming. Particularly so on the very part-intensive assemblies/weldments.
