In my opinion, it would be a great enhancement if it were possible to create different Model States within a derived part (derived from a master part), where each Model State can individually reference a different Model State of the master part.
Currently, it is possible to create multiple Model States in a derived part. However, in every created Model State, the referenced Model State from the master part is always adopted globally—even if it is changed in only one Model State.
At the moment, the only workaround is to create a separate derived part from the master part for each desired Model State, place these parts into an assembly, and activate the required Model State there.
It would be a significant improvement if it were no longer necessary to create separate derived parts for this purpose.
