I've really been digging the new 3D Annotation tools; combined with the new 3D PDF export they really speed up communication. One thing that I'd like to see added is a weld symbol tool. I can almost completely detail a simple assembly, but can't properly finish anything with welded joints.
I can't believe there has only been 16 votes for this feature request. How can anyone adapt to going fully digital (drawingless) using a MBD philosophy without the ability to add 3D annotations for welds. Autodesk has improved the 3D annotation feature in IV 2021 to include custom iProperties in leader annotations, which was a vast improvement. But, the lack of a 3D weld annotation is falling short of compliance with ASME Y14.41-2019. This is clearly an area where CAD software is lagging and Autodesk should step up and provide this ability. Period.
It's really necessary that weldment symbols can be placed as annotation in 3D MBD environment, when you are considering to switch to MBD. When weldment is necessary you are obligated to make a 2D drawing or an extra weldment assembly, which is not always desirable.
