Take a look at the attached images of a forged hook. The main hooked geometry was created using a loft feature. Notice how wavy the surfaces of that loft are? Unacceptable. Autodesk needs to implement an algorithm that automatically averages the surfaces between the loft sketches and creates a nicely smooth surface, not the wavy results seen. SolidWorks has this in the use of check boxes in their Loft UI to make the feature either normal to the feature sketches or best fit to one contiguous smooth tangency along the selected rails. Inventor is sub par in the lofted feature department for this reason.
