There is a crosshair of sorts during line/circle/point,etc... creation in sketch mode of parts,etc...
Personally I see no need to increase the crosshair size as Inventor already projects a dotted line from the crosshair automatically to any end/mid points,etc.. of other sketched geometry..

For me personally, the only reason I use a large crosshair size in AutoCAD is for more precise window selection (I can see if I will or won't include something in my selection even if it's on the other side of the screen from where I start my window-selection). I almost never have a need for precise window selection like this in Inventor.
yes in autocad having the larger pointer had some benefits..
I wish the Windows Snipping Tool had the ability to increase the pointer too..
But yes window selection is a perfect example of when a massive crosshair is beneficial.. But in sketch mode (which is the only place it really comes up.. in Inventor there really is no benefit.. other than to make Inventor mode like Autocad.. which is a bad thing)
Helpful tip in regards to the snipping tool, if you're interested: You may or may not like installing third-party software, but I use a little tool called Greenshot which is FANTASTIC for taking screenshots and includes a display-spanning crosshair as well as an XY-coordinate indicator. Also allows you to re-capture the same area, and includes an editor with some handy markup and labeling tools. I've used it for years and it's always worked amazingly well, and never shown any signs of malware or noticeable CPU consumption. If you're interested you can download it here: Greenshot.

I see this in the forums all the time...It doesn't matter why I am asking...there is a reason for my question for MY needs.
I found this page looking for an answer of how to increase the crosshair size in Inventor...because when I am doing complicated 3d sweeps or Tube & pipe items with lots of derived/included geometry, the cursor gets lost in the screen...I want it larger.
I come to this page; and find no answers & similar pages asking "Why would you want to do that?"
I use both Inventor and AutoCAD, often side-by-side in a dual monitor setup, and have done so for the last 7 or so years. I see no particular advantage to the AutoCAD-style crosshairs.
Can you elaborate on how you think this would improve usability? Is this an issue of visually losing track of the mouse cursor? If so, there are probably options in the Windows mouse cursor settings that would do just as good of a job as an AutoCAD-style crosshair would do at resolving it.

As was pointed out there, Inventor rarely (if ever) requires the fine-precision selecting that makes the large crosshairs so useful in AutoCAD. Can you list a few situations where crosshairs would be useful enough to warrant the development resources, display clutter, additional application options, etc.?

I realise this is an old post that received very little attention but...
Crosshairs are useful for a quick, visual check of how items are aligned relative to each other without messing around with starting commands. At the moment, all you can really do is pan the edges of things to the edge of the screen. It also makes it easier to find the centre of the cursor and provides a very easy reference to where x,y and z axes are.
It's quite disappointing - but not surprising - to see someone from Autodesk mocking the suggestion because Autocad is "from the 80's." If Inventor's developers had paid more attention to that program from the 80's when building Inventor, it would have been a lot more user-friendly a lot earlier on. Here we are in 2019 and they have only just added a "properties" window after more than 20 years of development, and that only works inside certain functions so it's not really a properties window anyway!
