I really like the concept of Model State, but I think there could be a way to improve it slightly (on create a new feature similar). Some parts can have various option (lets say you have a box with a pipe on the upper section and one on the lower, and you have different material available). You can either have the upper pipe coming from the front or the back, the lower pipe can also be either installed in teh front or the back, and you have 2-3 diffirents materials. If you want to show all models available, that you give you between 8 to 12 Model State.
What would be nice you be to have Options that focusses on one variation at the time. This way, rather than having multiple Model State, you simply choose which option you want. Let say in you Model Browser you had a folder called Options, in which you would have 3 dropbox named "Upper Pipe", "Lower Pipe" and "Material". And if you cliqued on the dropbox "Upper Pipe", you would have "Left" or "Right".
Options can quickly add up, and this would help run different scenario, and also help create more custumized assembly for our clients without having to carry tons of Model State
