iLogic Rule Editor > Model Tab: Add a Solid Bodies folder (for MultiBody Parts)

iLogic Rule Editor > Model Tab: Add a Solid Bodies folder (for MultiBody Parts)

It would be great if, within the iLogic Rules Editor, on the Model tab, in the same area as Model Parameters node and the "View: Master" (Design View Representations list) node, there was a node there for Solid Bodies

Perhaps this item would only visible when you have a MultiBody Part open, or perhaps it is always visible, but only populated when you have a MultiBody Part open.

Then by simply double clicking (or right click menu option) on an available Solid Body in the list, it you can:

  • Drop its oBody.Name as a String into your code area
    • Of course this should also be available in the Names Tab, to the right.
  • Drop its name into your code area,  color coded and recognized as a SurfaceBody, similar to how it recognizes a local Parameter in blue as being a Parameter within the code area
  • Just hoping here, but perhaps one day even showing within the Parameters area (to the right) which Parameters influence or effect that specific selected Solid Body, to make it easier to manipulate size, shape, position, etc. of just that one Body.

iLogic Rules Editor screen shot 1.PNG

As it stands right now, I have to take a screen shot of as many of my Solid Body names as I can fit onto the screen at a time, before switching from the Model Tab to the iLogic Tab, then to the External Rules sub-tab, to access & edit my external rule.  Then use that screen shot as a guide to manually enter these names into my code where needed.

There's got to be a better way.

Yes I know how to use either iLogic code or VBA code and loop through all solid bodies within a part document by name, but this would just make so many things simpler, easier, & faster.
