Did you mean:

iam/ipn iproperties

iam/ipn iproperties

Seems to be an endless task re-entering the iproperties for .ipn files when in my own experience they don't differ from the .iam there exploded from.

I would like to see an option at least that can be set in the .ipn template to say "use parent .iam iproperties".

Id also like to see some backwards referencing, essentially any additional properties made in the .ipn feedback to the parent .iam.

For me, this is because I have a drawing template that takes the paper size and creates a custom iproperty "Sheet Size", that goes into the models custom iproperties. The issue here is that the .ipn when on paper doesn't reference the parent file and as a result, only the ipn gets the custom iproperty. Granted this may not be for everybody but if you were to add additional information one would expect to keep all related data consistent.

Have you tried using the Design Assistant to copy properties between files? Open the design assistant, then Tools menu >Copy Design Properties

I use it often, so i agree there is a solution for bulk property input. For me though, i want things faster, more efficiently and not the extra work that comes with this method.

It would be realy usefull, if iproperties of the presentations (IPN) would be synced with the first assembly insert.
Like the IDW is synced with the iproperties of the part/assembly if set.

Simple option for sync yes/no and maybe the option to select iproperties to sync or to sync not.

I think you have it spot on their Zierath_CAD

I have my dwg template settings set up to copy iprops from the inserted model.

And has you say it could simply be an option the sync or not.
