Issue/Problem:
We created a 1/8" deep flat bottom spotface from the edge of a plate and then moved the edge of the plate 1/16" to shorten it's overall length without changing the depth of the spotface making the spotface now 1/16" deep. The hole note does not update accordingly and still shows the spotface depth at 1/8" as it was created from it's original reference surface. Short of dimensioning the diameter and depths seperately, the only solution I have foundis to remove the spotface and recreate it after the move face operation had been performed. This applies to all hole types when referencing the depth of the hole feature.
Suggested solution:
Depth dimensions of holes (and other features) should always reference the surface it is shown being dimensioned from in the 2D drawing instead of the feature or workplane it was originally created from (that may not even exist any more). This would allow feature changes and modifications to automatically update the depth callouts on the drawing.
The attached .ipt and .idw have a simple block showing some of the ways that holes can be created showing the dimensioning errors. Here's a shot of what the .idw contains. This was submitted to Autodesk support and it was suggested that I post it here as well. Case ID: 10447780.
