Fix Crtl+O After a Part is Opened

Fix Crtl+O After a Part is Opened

This is purely for increasing workflows using keyboard controls.

When you open a part in Inventor, and want to open another part right after opening that first part, you cannot do this using Crtl+O. The program window has to be clicked again for the keyboard controls to mean Jack-Diddly again...This is dumb.

Hmm, I can open multiple parts one after the other using Ctrl+O. This is using Inventor 2017.4.8. What version of Inventor are you using?

We are using 2019 here, about to go to 2020 as we're on a subscription plan.

@johnsonshiue, is this a known issue in 2019? Or could it be something specific with janelson's system?

I'm not seeing it on 2018 either.  Looks like it's either somehow environment-specific for janelson, or it was a new 2019 issue.

This is working Ok in 2019.4 for me (tested on win7) - what update level of 2019 are you using ?

Thanks

Hi Jarott,

Are you running any other add-ins aside from the ones included in Inventor Pro?

Many thanks!

Hey Johnson,

Other than the Screencast tool, I can't say that I have anything else added in, but I'm not sure if Screencast is classed as an add-in in that regard.

Hi Janelson,

I tried with 2019.4 with screencast add-in locally, the Ctrl+O works fine to continue open file after one document open.

But I noticed if switch to My Home page and click on any blank area, then Ctrl+O does not work. And it seems related screencast add-in indeed because after unload this add-in (from Tools> Add-Ins) then repeat click blank area on My Home Ctrl+O works again.

Could you try if unload screencast recorder add-in can work around in your case? Many thanks!
