Exporting multi-sheet Inventor .idw to single AutoCAD .dwg.

Exporting multi-sheet Inventor .idw to single AutoCAD .dwg.

Now, when exporting from Inventor to DWG, each sheet is exported as separate file, therefore, if you want one single DWG with all drawings and sheets, it has to be combined manually or by importing each layout in CAD.

It would be great if Inventor can export multiple sheets into one single DWG CAD, with all drawings in the model tab and sheets in the layout tabs.

The issue with this could be that exporting a sheet exports a .dwg scaled to the base view scale of the sheet, which will differ for each sheet in the package.  Exporting one dwg would not result in a nice tiled set of drawings in one .DWG, you would either have to make one of the two sacrifices:

1. the drawings would not be in scale if you want tiled sheets of the same size in one autocad drawing

OR

2. The drawings would be sequenced in the X axis as a series sheets that are jarringly irregular in size.

OR maybe

3. the drawing could maybe be generated with each sheet tiled the way you want but as a series of blocks (SHEET1, SHEET2, etc), each scaled to the individual sheets base view from the IDW, and scaled as a block after the fact to match.

Perhaps the ambiguity in how this would be implemented has prevented it from being an option by default, perhaps there's a way around it using some other means using AutoLISP or Ilogic.
