We are currently facing a challenge where we need to assign unique properties or attributes to similar assemblies that are placed multiple times within a master assembly. The Instance Properties workflow is quite suitable for our needs. However, the issue is that these Instance Properties cannot be exported using the DWF format.
While the DWF format allows exporting not only the 3D model but also all iProperties, it does not include the Instance Properties.
In a BIM scenario, having this capability is crucial. With future releases of Autodesk Inventor that support exporting to the IFC format with metadata, it would be essential to not only assign Instance Properties to similar .ipt and .iam files but also to export these Instance Properties in IFC or DWF formats.
Perhaps there is already a plugin or workaround available for Inventor to address this issue. We would be very interested to learn more about it.
