STEP 242 is capable of storing textures and PMI information, but sadly Inventor does not provide the threaded hole "texture" you see in a model to be included in this export. (Or any format with textures.) We use a lot of STEP-files to send weldment assemblies etc. to our suppliers and this critical visual reminder gets lost. For large assemblies it's a pain to point out every hole on a drawing, it gets lost real quick.
I'm NOT looking for physical thread, only the texture. The holes will be lasercut and threaded later on. Would just serve as a good visual reminder when our files get processed by our suppliers. (Lot of times they create their own detailed drawings for their prodcutionteams.)
Please make sure they get exported in assemblies (toplevel) also if implemented. Huge frustration when details get lost because only part level colors and textures are included when exporting a toplevel file.
