Export as cpixml file

Inventor should get the possibility to export iParts and iAssemblies in a cpixml-fielformat.

The CPIXML format is a proprietary XML format defined by RIB Software AG as part of the development and market launch of the RIB iTWO® software. "CPI" means "Construction Process Integration".

In construction, this format is used in conjunction with BIM to create a connection between model geometry and calculation software.

Yes, the cpixml format is very practical when you want to link the 3D model with the prices in RIB iTWO.

How did this get done with only 16 votes? I'm beginning to think this Idea Station has no purpose. It looks like this feature is available as an app on the Manage.Autodesk.com page.

Edit: I didn't check to see where I was. The app is for Civil 3D.

 you are right, the App is for Civil 3D. The guys who programmed the app for Civil 3D couled also do it for Inventor. But autodesk have to ask the guys fore this and give them a contract.
As the guys have sawn this idea they called me and toled me that the could do it also for Inventor.

In connection with BIM (Building Information Modeling), the cpixml format is becoming increasingly important if you want to transfer quantities from models directly to the Rib iTwo software for pricing.
