Exploded view in assembly

Hi

My self taher working as application engineer.

i got lots of requirements to have a feature in inventor assembly to have an exploded view instead of doing the exploded model in presentation environment.

can Autodesk implement a tool which can explode the assembly like other softwares are doing already like: CATIA, Solidworks etc.

I would love to see this although this would become quite an issue with large assemblies due to the amount of movement of parts/

Technically, if you really want to do this, there's nothing stopping you now.  There's no built-in tool specifically for this, but you can improvise it.  It would just be a Positional Representation with a lot of offset value overrides.

That is right but I cannot sit and do all the offset values in constrains.

@jtylerbc Definitely one way, just time consuming if you have masses of parts.

But how you are helping in this to the customer. As far as other softwares concerned the did it long ago. And why inventor is still at developing stage

Catia has it, last time I used it just moving not rotating parts.

now you can use degrees of freedom or make code to move and rotate all parts just over the model extents and then update so unconstrained parts will obviously be noticed

Exploded in assembly is standard in virtually any other MCAD. It reduces files, keeps things organized, simplifies drawing creation and is not just for visualization. I use it in other cad when needing to expose mating faces of numerous parts during simulation setups along with other uses.

As for complication for development, the work has already been done, it just needs to be ported to the assembly environment and tweaked.
