Enhancement Request: "Finish" Command to Change Material Properties in Multibody Parts

Currently, in Autodesk Inventor, the Finish command allows users to change the appearance of a solid body within a multibody part, but it does not modify the material properties. It would be highly beneficial if the Finish command could also update the Material of a selected solid body, not just its appearance.

This enhancement would allow users to quickly and efficiently assign different materials to individual solid bodies within a single part file (IPT) without having to manually edit the properties of each body in the browser. By integrating material changes into the Finish tool, users could improve their workflow, ensuring that both visual representation and physical properties are updated simultaneously.

This feature would be especially useful for users working with multibody parts, enabling better material differentiation without needing to convert bodies into separate components or assemblies.

Would you like me to refine it further or add more details?

Hi

The Finish tool is used to define the coatings (painting, heat treatment, etc.); it is not used to define the material.

It also defines the character of the face, not the body (which is what the material is about).
