Eliminate Waiting with User Interface

Eliminate Waiting with User Interface

When I work with a large Inventor assembly, I spend at least 95% of my time waiting for the application. I spend hours watching the spinning circle of impending death, and occasionally see the green progress bar in Inventor move. The messages I see most frequently at the lower left in Inventor are "Loading VBA application," or "Executing Udate Component." While these are going on, Inventor is essentially locked up, and frustratingly inactive.

My suggestion is that the user interface should not be impacted by most of the activities occuring in the model. This would improve the user experience hugely. Saves can happen in the background. Also, for example, simply selecting several parts in the model tree can at times cause Inventor to lock up for many, many minutes. Even if Inventor is trying to highlight all the parts picked, it shouldn't impact how quickly I can select other parts, or enter other commands. Manipulating the model, or vault browser should be un-interupted. This should be the same for all dialog boxes, and user interfaces, such as iparts, bill of materials, etc.
