easy way of creating simple parts

easy way of creating simple parts

in assembly insert simple parts which are created by just filling in the dimensions.

for example a rectangular piece or rod is needed. click insert rectangular, fill in the dimensions 200x100x2mm and it automatically generates the new part.

@Anonymous Peter are you familiar with creating parts in an assembly..

Its pretty darn simple now.. and takes seconds to create a new part in an assembly..

You can also use "primatives" too which automates the process of creating a "box" by stepping you through the sketch and automatically invoking extrude dialog..

Obviously you need to select a "template" to use for your part too (how would your method achieve that?)..

So its not as "easy" as just placing a random box into a file.. This isn't a "graphics" program.. There is more to it than that..

A part needs a part number.. A part needs a template to bring in the styles/appearances/materials,etc..
