Dear sir
The "direct edit" in Inventor is very very useful tool for editing solid body and help me so much. but it can be upgraded and be more better. Some of its shortcomings are as follows:
1- you can can not do this tool for surfaces and lines and vertices.
2- you can not copy and pattern any faces, solids lines and ... when moving
3- you can not twist and bend any object such as " flex" tool in the solidworks.

And see its "moving" and " pulling" tools. They are excellent.
Please improve this tool such as "spaceclaim"because is very useful
