Inventor already has this feature under "Delete face". Why it's called "lump or void" is beyond me. And why it's under "Delete Face" is even more confusing. Too bad the Inventor programmers don't have the same skill set/common sense the original AutoCAD programmers had.
Well, it deletes all the faces, making the unwanted part seem to disappear. But it still leaves the body in the model tree. So it can't be used to delete a body correctly without also using a combine operation.
And judging by the Inventor 2020 Beta, Inventor's programmers are up there with the AutoCAD programmers, some good stuff in the pipes. Though it does feel like it's been a few years since Autodesk last gave Inventor some real love. If you are suggesting that AutoCAD's menus are more intuitive/less cryptic, then I personally think you are mad! Each to their own though.
Just to add, it should be easy to also remove surface bodies, for more than one thing the same surfaces remain in the tree, they can hide but remain there, and when you have many surfaces it becomes annoying. With the same criteria, you should have a check box to eliminate the entry of origin
Where this would be useful to me: I import Inventor models into Navisworks often, and Navisworks will import all geometry in parts, regardless of whether it is shown or hidden, and there is no workaround except to delete the hidden geometry (which I usually cannot do), or derive the part before migrating (a pain,). Being able to delete surfaces and bodies as a feature in the tree would fix this.
This is one feature I miss from Solidworks, which can delete surface and solid bodies as a feature in the tree. (although I like that I can full out manually delete bodies and surfaces in Inventor - sometimes!)
