Custom Section Content center for drawing

Custom Section Content center for drawing

INVENTOR - SECTIONS IN DRAWING (idw)

In practice, it looks like this:

- In the drawing, the following are always Section: Bearings, Seals, Retaining rings, KM nuts, MB Washers, profiles (machine spindles are used)

- Not Section in the drawing: Bolts, Nuts, Washers, Pins, Ribs

Allow users to customize the section of the part according to real practice.

Here's how Inventor behaves:

Components have different options for displaying sections. In points, we will list several options that affect the sections in the drawing.

1. Each custom component has a Section by default.

  • Depending on your needs, you can set for different components whether they will be displayed in the drawing in section or not in the drawing.

2. Content Center components are affected by other display options and document settings do not apply. So even if you have selected the option =Participate in assembly and layout Section = the content center setting is superior to the mentioned option. Below is an example of a profile. Otherwise, fasteners are not Section, screw, nut, washer. Not all parts inserted = As standard with content center.

  • (unfortunately there is no option in OC to set the part inserted as a standard that would be Section – it is for adding to IDEASTATION, there could be a third option As Standard IN THE Section).

Profile embedded as Regular or As Standard = This setting is superior to others

2.1 Profile inserted as = As Custom

  • Display in drawing = Section
  • This setting is superior to others

2.2 Profile inserted as = As Standard

  • Display in drawing is = No Section (None)
  • This setting is superior to others

3. Another way to influence the Section is to set Parts Only in the filters and use the cursor to mark the component in the workspace or in the tree (model browser) to mark the assembly or component.

4. The last option is to set the cut for everything

  • This option is unusable because it Sections everything, even screws, or vice versa, it cuts nothing and you would have to manually mark what you actually want to Section or not.
